STATEMENT | UPHOLD AND SUPPORT PALESTINIAN RIGHT OF RETURN

The Philippine-Palestine Friendship Association (PPFA), a network promoting solidarity for the struggles of the peoples of Palestine and the Philippines expresses its unwavering support with the Palestinian People in their just and courageous struggles for their right to return to their historic homeland.

Since 1948, during the creation of the Zionist state, Israel, approximately three quarters of a million Palestinians were forced to become refugees.  To date, and because of the continuing dispossession and expulsion from their land,  there are approximately 7.2 million Palestinian refugees, representing the longest suffering and largest refugee population in the world today.

The reality of Palestinian forced displacement is therefore at the core of the Palestinian experience and the Palestinian refugee issue is at the heart of the continuing colonization of Palestine and imperialist programme of the United States in the Middle East. This has resulted in various forms of attacks against the Palestinian people.  Approximately 4,650 total Palestinian prisoners are languishing in occupation jails.

PPFA stands with the Palestinian people in their demand for their right to return to their homeland and struggle for freedom against Zionist and imperialist domination as it continues to also fight to be free from US-led imperialist attacks in the Philippines.

PPFA strongly supports the Global Campaign for the Right to return to Palestine (GCRP) and calls on the international community to join activities across the world during  Intifada week, the 22nd to the 28th of September, demanding the right of the Palestinian people to return to their land.

Down with imperialism and Zionist project in Palestine!

Down with fascism and imperialism in the Philippines!

Long live international solidarity!
